Choosing a laptop has never been more difficult. Between skyrocketing component prices, AI features of varying levels of usefulness taking center stage, and the tantalizing but risky option of buying a used PC, sticking with what you know works is no longer an option. You’d think that looking for a more specific kind of laptop, one with a good integrated webcam, would make the task easier by reducing your options, but truly excellent laptop cameras are so rare that the difficulty loops around to being hard again.

That’s why we didn’t focus entirely on hunting down the laptops with the best cameras, especially when they were attached to mediocre machines, and instead selected four of the best laptops on the market that also feature excellent integrated webcams. They’re all great for video calls and will let you record high-resolution video, rest assured, but since they’re not cheap, we thought you’d want to know what they can do beyond shooting video.

The Razer Blade 16 2025 has only a 1080p camera, which is more or less the standard for high-budget laptops, but we’re mentioning it anyway because this is a list of the best laptops with great cameras, and it is an incredibly good gaming laptop. At $2,399, it’s obviously quite expensive, but that’s the price of one of the best batteries sitting on a gaming laptop. And even if the integrated camera’s resolution doesn’t go up to 4K, it includes an IR sensor to be used with Windows Hello. It also includes a built-in physical privacy shutter for added peace of mind.

Of the three Razer Blade 16 configurations you can currently buy, we suggest you start by looking at the middle one, which comes in at $2,799 and has 32GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 5070 with 8GB of VRAM. For $400 less, you can snag the RTX 5060 version, but sadly, it comes with just 16GB of RAM, which makes it really hard to justify the $2,399 price tag. The extra-powerful $3,499 version, on the other hand, had 32GB of RAM and an RTX 5080 GPU with 16GB of RAM; a significant improvement, but for that price, you could buy a more capable desktop PC with proper cooling and have enough spare money for a capable laptop.

The HP OmniBook 7 has pretty good stats and a great 5MP camera, while being about the same price as Apple’s high-end laptops and way cheaper than Razer’s gaming options. The price of $1,479 is nothing to scoff at, but if you need one of the best integrated webcams on the market, it might be a worthwhile investment. Plus, what really makes the OmniBook worth its price is what’s inside. For less than $1,500 (and significantly less during its frequent sales), you get 32GB of RAM, a 2TB SSD, a decent dedicated GPU, and an impressive battery life, with some websites reporting over 24 hours of autonomy.

If you’re looking for something a little cheaper, the 16GB RAM, 17-inch version of the OmniBook 7 has an MSRP of about $1,200 and can go on sale for significantly less. Alternatively, you can still find HP’s recently discontinued HP Dragonfly G4 for some very reasonable prices. You’ll find the same 5MP camera and some more than acceptable components, even though the cheapest Dragonfly models don’t have a dedicated GPU.

The MacBook Pro M4 2025 edition comes with a 12MP camera, which is miles ahead of anything offered by even the best Windows laptops, including much more expensive machines. However, you won’t be using all twelve of these megapixels at once. Apple only promises video recording at 1080p, but thanks to Center Stage, newer MacBooks can track your face across a pretty wide area in front of the laptop, always producing a Full HD picture. Effectively, the webcam is cropping a section of its full-resolution image to show only the important part.

If the MacBook Pro has any drawback, besides requiring an appreciation for Apple’s OS, it is the price, which starts at $1,699 for the M4 standard, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD model. Even if you can find slightly better deals online, that’s still not a lot of RAM for the price, and bumping it up to a livelier 32GB will cost you an additional $400. If you’re not looking forward to spending all that money on a good laptop with a great camera, the slightly less powerful, non-fan-cooled $999 MacBook Air M4 2025 also comes with a 12MP camera and support for Center Stage, and it streams and records video at 1080p. If you decide to go with the newer 2026 MacBook Air instead, the price goes up to $1,099. You might be tempted by the new MacBook Neo, which currently sits at $599, but Apple’s cheapest laptop only has a 1080p camera, with no Center Stage magic in sight.

In a world where even a high-end laptop with a 1080p webcam is considered capable of shooting great videos, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12 is genuinely indulgent, with an 8MP camera that can shoot up to 4K-resolution video and a 2,880 x 1,800 display. Sadly, the newer X1 Carbon Gen 13 has walked back this improvement and now only comes with a mediocre 1080p camera. Since the Gen 12 was superseded by the Gen 13, it’s now hard to find a mint-condition ThinkPad X1 Carbon with an 8MP camera. If you’re up for the challenge, however, you can definitely still find one — they were still sold up to 2025, after all.

Just make sure you actually get a model with an 8MP camera. The Gen 12, like most laptops, was available in a few different configurations, and only some had this extremely high-resolution camera, the others were equipped with a 1080p camera. Beyond video quality, this laptop can be found with a 2TB SSD, Intel Core Ultra 7 processors, and 32GB of RAM. It does not come with a dedicated GPU, so it’s not ideal for intensive gaming, video editing, and anything else more taxing than some light image editing.

While we started researching this article by collecting a list of laptops with excellent cameras, what earned each product a spot on the list were its specs and the overall quality beyond the webcam. That’s why, to qualify for this list, a laptop needed to have great reviews, which we sourced from websites like ZDNET, TechRadar, and PC Mag.

We also made sure that the list included different kinds of laptops. One ended up being an Apple product, another a very high-end gaming laptop, and the other two represent different kinds of premium business laptops.
