Dyson’s cordless vacuum can handle kid and pet messes – and it’s nearly 30% off at Amazon

Dyson V15 Detect Plus

Amazon/ZDNET

If you’ve been looking to buy a cordless vacuum, now is a great time to do so: The excellent Dyson V15 Detect Plus Cordless Vacuum — the one with a laser that can reveal microscopic allergens and measure how many particles it’s picking up — is currently $599 during Amazon’s Big Spring Sale, down from the usual price of $850.

That’s a $250 savings on one of Dyson’s premium (and popular) vacuum cleaners. This isn’t the best price I’ve seen for this vacuum (it dropped to $499 back in December around the holidays), but it is the closest discount I’ve seen offered on it since.

I splurged on a Dyson V15 Detect vacuum about two years ago, and it’s been one of my favorite home purchases. It has a long battery life, and I love seeing all the gross things it’s picking up. With a toddler prone to throwing food and a constantly shedding cat in the house, it’s been a lifesaver to pull out of the closet immediately without worrying about plugging it in.

The Dyson is also super easy to empty without getting any mess on yourself. I use it on carpet, hardwood, and tile floors, and it works great. Plus, seeing all the dirt and grime the V15 picks up is ultra-satisfying, thanks to its laser light. It makes cleaning — dare I say — even a bit fun.

But, if you’re looking for a more innovative (and hands-free) way to clean, check out the best Amazon Big Spring Sale robot vacuum deals we’ve found.

How I rated this deal

These $250 savings translate to about 29% off the regular price, which is a 3/5 Editor’s deal rating according to ZDNET’s system. This isn’t the best offer I’ve ever seen on the Dyson V15 Detect, but it is one of the first savings I’ve seen on it in several weeks.
