Urban Rhythm — Manila Through the vivo X300 Pro Lens

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Manila-based, multi-award-winning photographer Jamir Lyndon Lumbao masterfully captures the essence of everyday life with remarkable clarity and vivid detail, utilizing the advanced capabilities of the vivo X300 Pro Photographer Kit to enhance every shot.

Lumbao works professionally in the financial sector, but his creative journey started in 2014 when a friend invited him to join a photography group. What began as a casual introduction quickly developed into a passion for street photography, which continues to influence his perspective on the world.

“Street photography challenges me to capture candid moments, raw emotions, and real-life situations. It allows me to tell stories through unplanned and natural scenes, which I find both exciting and meaningful,” he said.

Inspired by renowned photographers and local creatives, Lumbao crafted a style that merges artistic expression with technical accuracy. His photography emphasizes light, shadows, reflections, and telephoto approaches, often turning everyday scenes in Manila into images with an abstract and surreal quality.

“I would describe my photography style as creative and expressive, influenced by my background in art,” he said.

The vivo X300 Pro Telephoto King features a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera, enhancing this vision. Designed for capturing distant objects with exceptional clarity and depth, it has received worldwide acclaim, including a top score in DxOMark’s telephoto assessment.

For Lumbao, the distinction becomes evident when capturing images in actual city environments.

“My experience with the vivo X300 Pro Photographer Kit in real-world city shooting was excellent. It’s a clear upgrade from my X100, especially for capturing distant subjects, and the telephoto extender makes it incredibly easy to get sharp, detailed shots from far away,” he shared.

The vivo X300 Pro features 85mm optical zoom and, when used with the vivo ZEISS 2.35x Telephoto Extender, extends its reach up to 5400mm. Designed with advanced optics, the extender improves clarity, reduces distortion, and allows photographers to capture distant scenes that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Complementing this feature is the vivo PGYTECH Imaging Grip Kit, which offers enhanced control, comfort, and durability for creators on the go.

“The standout features for me were definitely the grip and the lens, and together they completely transform the shooting experience. The grip feels incredibly comfortable and secure in hand, making long shooting sessions much easier, and the physical controls for exposure compensation, zoom, and video give you a more precise, camera-like feel that makes capturing moments quicker and more intuitive,” Lumbao shared.

The lens offers a clear improvement in image quality, particularly when capturing distant subjects, in addition to ergonomic benefits.

“What really takes it to the next level, though, is the lens. It delivers stunning clarity and detail, especially when shooting distant subjects, allowing you to capture scenes that would normally be out of reach. The added reach, combined with sharp image quality and excellent depth, makes every shot look more professional,” Lumbao said.

A standout moment for Lumbao showcases this setup’s effectiveness. During a sunset shoot, he spotted a subject at a distance and swiftly repositioned himself to better frame the scene.

He said, “This is one of my most memorable shots. While photographing the sunset, I saw a subject on the other side. I hurriedly moved to that spot and carefully aligned the subject within the sun. The light was changing rapidly, and I feared I might miss the perfect moment because the sun was setting so quickly.”

Using the telephoto extender, he achieved a precise and clear shot.

“Thanks to the tele extender on the vivo X300 Pro, I was able to zoom in from a distance and frame the shot perfectly without losing detail. It gave me the reach and clarity I needed to capture this precise moment, turning it into a truly special and unforgettable image,” he added.

Lumbao’s work with the vivo X300 Pro Photographer Kit shows how cutting-edge mobile imaging enables creators to tell stories as they happen, blending reach, accuracy, and creative flexibility in one device.
